Lig ik daar net zo lekker op mijn moeders rug te sluimeren, komt de baas ons storen. Mama stuift overeind en ik moet me maar staande weten te houden. Wel grappig zo, natuurlijk. We lijken net de Bremer Stadsmuzikanten, zei de baas nog, toen ie het hok binnen kwam lopen. Ik blijf maar even staan, best geinig zo. Ma heeft toch maar twee spenen en die hebben mijn beide zusjes al te pakken. Als het effe kan, kruip ik op mijn moeders rug. Heerlijk zacht matrasje en lekker warm. En, wie het eerst komt, wie het beste ligt. Net als met die spenen: wie het eerst komt, die het eerst drinkt.
